Housing for Older People (HOPS) & Extra Care Homes

All of our rented accommodation for the elderly is located in Bournemouth & Ringwood.

Our housing for older people (HOPS) has a communal door entry system and homes in Bournemouth enjoy a Sky Digital Television from the communal aerial system. All three sites in Bournemouth have additional features for residents' use, such as local drop-in office (for pre-arranged appointments), laundries, guest rooms, passenger lifts and/or communal lounges and communal gardens. Ringwood homes enjoy laundries and communal gardens.

Bournemouth Council externally contract a company that provides both the onsite care and housing related support at our extra care rented scheme for the elderly at Craigleith (normally 50 years old +). The care and support staff are normally on site at Craigleith from 7am to 11pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Outside of these hours an emergency call service is available.

All our housing for older people and extra care housing in Bournemouth & Ringwood has an emergency call system and flats have ‘Tunstall Telecom’ call points linked to a 24-hour Bournemouth Council Careline Service. New residents will be supplied with a pendant which can be used to summon help in an emergency 24 hours, 7 days a week.

All three sites in Bournemouth have plentiful opportunities for a variety of social events, organised by residents and are facilitated by council contracted staff at Craigleith. How much residents join in is entirely up to them.

Our residents may wish to transfer to our family homes that are primarily located in Poole. Our residents who are over 60 years old and who live in our general family properties can apply to transfer to our elderly (HOPS) accomodation in Bournemouth & Ringwood.

Non-Sandbourne residents wishing to be housed by us at our sheltered housing (HOPS) in Bournemouth & Ringwood should refer to the ‘apply for a flat’ page to see the criteria and download an application form.
